Mr. Blue Shoes

“Your program was fantastic! The kids are still talking about the “man with the blue shoes” days later. Your personality shines when you are on stage. Your energy makes the children want to get up and feel the music the same way that you do. Each child feels connected to you through your music and that is how they will remember the blues, through you. Thank you for everything!”

Camille Smith, The Viewpoint School, Calabasas, California

Biography:

Vibrant blue shoes, backwards baseball cap and playfully goofy persona,
Mr. Blue Shoes is the most nontraditional traditional blues man you will ever meet.

Michael Dyson, a.k.a. Mr. Blue Shoes is a Grammy Award Winning producer from Dallas, Texas that leaves kids instantly entranced the second they hear the sounds of his guitar reverberate throughout the theater.

Kids immediately warm up to Mr. Blue Shoes as he chides them into strumming the strings of his guitar, making every person in the room part of the show.

While playing, Mr. Blue Shoes slaps the side of his guitar to keep the beat as the audience follows suit with ground shaking intensity.

Sing alongs paired with infectious rhythms provide the soundtrack as Mr. Blue Shoes interlaces fascinating tales of America’s legendary and larger than life blues artists like Blind Willie Johnson and Blind Lemon Jefferson.

Every great show has its signature, and for Mr. Blue Shoes that signature is
The Wiggle Bounce. The trademarked dance routine can be taught to anyone of any age in three simple moves 1. Wiggle 2. Bounce 3. Wave your hands, turn around, reach down and touch the ground.

Volunteers from the audience bring the program full circle as Mr. Blue Shoes brings the house down in a sea of kids dancing to The Wiggle Bounce.

Mr. Blue Shoes’ universal appeal and ability to connect with audiences both young and old makes the program a timeless experience and moment kids can share and cherish with their parents, teachers, and friends for a lifetime.
