It’s been a while since you have heard from us. With your help, Blue Shoe has experienced many successes since we last talked and we have been planning extensively for the new school year.

As you can see, we have a new site up that will allow us to better communicate with you more frequently. Many of you may have received communications from our last donor campaign that took place at the first of the year. As you know, we launched a massive education program tour in an effort to reach more students, most of which are from areas of our state that receive little if any arts programs.

Our goal was to reach 27,000 kids. We are happy to report that we surpassed our goal, reaching a staggering 38, 000 from 14 districts throughout the entire State of Texas. The event received some great press coverage. We invite you to take a look at the wonderful article the Abilene Reporter News wrote entitled Finding a Fun Way to Sing the Blues in Abilene. The article best summarizes the excitement that occurred throughout the entire month.

The event was a huge success in that students were provided the opportunity of the lifetime to hear the blues and learn about the pioneers who created and the life lessons they left with us.

The downside is of the 14 districts that participated, there are dozens more that are in need of programs. Your help is going to be needed to make this happen. We look forward to sharing our plans for the new school year with you soon. Stay tuned and we cannot thank you enough for your continued support.
